James Edward Garcia explores the Building Ruins of a one-time Smallpox Hospital in New York City.
Video log episode from archived footage filmed in May and June 2015 on Roosevelt Island, in New York City. On these visits I used my smart phone and a camcorder. This is not a paranormal investigation, but an urban exploration. Though I am quite sure there are hauntings taking place on the site of this one-time hospital/nursing school that have since decayed into ruins.
Check it out.
From 1854 to 1886 the building functioned as a hospital.
From 1886 to the 1950’s the building functioned as a Nursing Home.
The building shut its doors in the 1950’s where it sat abandoned. It slowly deteriorated to its current state of ruin.
I give a brief history of the building and its surroundings in the video.
In the history section I used photos and information off the internet including information and pics taken from https://www.theruin.org/, which is put together in partnership with Roosevelt Island Historical Society. I recommend you check out the web site for a more in-depth detailed history of the Smallpox Hospital building.
There is more on the way from my time at other spooky locations and my channel keeps growing with explorations into the supernatural in some of the most haunted places in the US. So, make sure you subscribe.
