A bizarre image, taken from the NASA library, appears to show a moon creature of some kind, or possibly alien machinery, on the surface of the moon.

The image was snapped by the Apollo 8 lunar orbiter, and seems to show a spider like anomaly. As you can see in the close-up, the object has a large bowe shaped head, with three support legs, and a possible long tail or tube, coming from its rear.

The object, which was photographed due east of the Lomonosov crater, is too well defined to be an image artefact or defect in the image processing.
