This sacred rock is what is left of an extinct volcano that created an underwater cave where Tessie is said to be nesting at. Cave Rock is believed to be by the Washoe Tribe ancient burial ground and is very sacred. Back in the day repelling was allowed from on top of this rock however today due to preservation now its only meant for hiking and viewing. This rock has one of the best scenic overlooks out of all of Lake Tahoe and boast other strange myths as well. Get ready because we will stand on top of it towering over 300 plus feet above.
