The Chollar Mine was claimed by Billy Chollar in 1859 and was the fifth largest producer of silver in Virginia Cities Comstock Lode. The problem was that its neighbor had crossed into the Chollar which led to a four year law suit in turn by 1865 it was known as the Chollar-Potosi Mine. Chollar had a beautiful mansion which also served as the mining office built in 1861 that way he could keep an eye on his mine which made about 17 million dollars and was operational until about 1920. The mine was plagued by cave-ins, flooding caused from the combination shaft and a series of accidents. This led to a series of deaths but it did not halt production and today its known to be one of the most haunted mines in all of Virginia City. This is a special video which will start off with footage of wild mustangs followed by a walk around the Chollar Mansion and eventually a journey into the mine tunnel which goes back about 400' and plenty of rusty relics of the past. Afterwards will play basketball at St Mary's in the mountain all the way up to the Great Basin Brewery where ill sample a variety of brews and my birthday bash. Including near the end of this video is a photo gallery which boast photos of the Memorial Day Parade which we attended prior to exploring the mine. This video has it all as the entire trip was all about my birthday which included breakfast, parade, exploring, basketball, brews and my birthday party with my family all on film. What more could I ask for? You will even get to see the Virginia & Truckee Railroad roar on by this truly is magical in a sense and I really hope our fans enjoy this gem.
