Virginia City is surrounded by a vast wilderness with great views of the Virginia, Pine Nut and Sierra Ranges. Not only are there great views of the mountains but also six mile Canyon below where some of the towns first mines were founded. As you can see from the video the area is a high desert with wildlife such as horses, rabbits, bobcats, mountain lions and small rodents. We are hiking our way towards an old quarry which was used to build up the town below.
