This storage room may have housed TNT and other supplies in the 1800s. There are two rooms built into the hillside such as this. I also heard at one time the Comstock Lode Sutro Tunnel did connect to the mine nearby. Mary's Tunnel travels under HWY. 50 and if you pay very close attention in the video you will see a spider reflecting our lights. At night this location is very eerie compared to touring it during the day hours.
