As the sun was beginning to set we had to find an way down off the ridge and back to the bottom of the canyon. Along the way we found this old wooden tree house hidden in the Pine Nut Mountains forest. You could see allot of cans, canvas, wood boards and even a tent. Somebody perhaps a bushwhacker may have lived here or even a hermit at one time. We would eventually descend down tot he river where we came across cess pools of Mercury. This is a clip of us crossing the Carson River lucky for us it was winter but due to a warm winter the melted snow made the water icy, cold and flowing fairly fast for this time of year. In the Spring the river can rise 15' deeper I have witnessed it and so we give you "Mercury Rising". The fish are not safe to eat as mercury was used in early ore processing which polluted some parts of the Carson River only later other safer methods were used by then it was to late as even the river today is still not fully healed from its old milling days.
