As part of a class project, I tried to approach my overnight stay at the supposedly haunted Waverly Hills Sanitarium in Louisville, KY with an open mind. This meant going along with whatever experiments were posed while keeping an eye out for problematic points in terms of critical thinking.

This is completely raw footage & has been in no way abridged, rigged, edited, or manipulated. Furthermore, the flashlight was not being touched, bumped, or jostled in any way. We were in an enclosed space (the Death Tunnel) with no wind. The same experiment had not worked at all earlier with more voyeurs, but when repeated with a smaller group, we had these noteworthy results. Furthermore, other visitors on the same tour reported having performed the same experiment with multiple flashlights that would turn on and off simultaneously, and one of my classmates even indicated that the charging light on his digital video camera - a small LED that is only supposed to illuminate when the device is plugged in, which it was not - was also surging to life in time with the flashlights' pulses of light. Neither of these controls were present in my experiment, but I still find it to be food for thought.

You can judge for yourself whether this was a series of random circuit fluctuations or whether the flow of electricity was somehow being manipulated by a sentient spirit. Either way, it was a startling experience to say the least, and it has made me think twice about if this flashlight "trick" is really just a hoax.
