The historic Lavaca County Jail in Hallettsville, Texas, the second longest continuously operating Texas jail (1885-2005) houses 100 years of jail technology. The building was closed in 2005 and sat vacant until its 2014 purchase by Rita, Inc. During this time, the jail began a new chapter as South Texas Afterlife Researchers (STAR) started the first paranormal investigations of the site. After return trips and growing evidence, they believe the jail was never truly empty.
