Police have recovered a body at an abandoned hospital in Mississippi long said to be haunted after it was discovered by a group of ghost hunters, authorities say.

The victim was found on Sunday at the old Kuhn Memorial State Hospital in Vicksburg.

The body was identified as 69-year-old Sharon Wilson, who had been missing since the night before, local media are reporting.

Police have since arrested Akeem McCloud, 20, and Rafael McCloud, 33 - who are related - however no charges have yet been laid, according to The Clarion-Ledger.
It is believed police had spoken to the men before the body was found.

They told investigators they dropped Wilson on the side of the road in Sharkey County - about 50 miles from Vicksburg - after breaking into her house and abducting her on Saturday night.


Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong said the body appeared to have suffered a trauma to the head.
