A group of ghosthunters claim this is the eerie moment they captured evidence of ghostly activity in one of Britain's most haunted buildings.

Paranormal investigators caught the inexplicable apparition on camera during a tour of Stanley Palace, in Chester, which is renowned for its ghostly goings on.

The team from Sefton Paranormal Investigators (SPI) were filming at the 16th century Grade Two building for new series True Ghost Stories, which will launch in September.

SPI - headed up by mother and son Pamela and Aaron Robinette, and Alan Mee - noticed the unexplained activity as they watched CCTV footage back after their visit.

It appears to show specks of dust flying around at random and then a larger anomaly appears near the leg of one of the team and floats eerily across the room.

And another portion of footage appears to capture a ghostly echo of children's voices whispering to each other.

The team revisited the area within Stanley Palace after they held a successful guided tour there last June and caught the ghostly figures of three children on the staircase.
