The Two Mile House sat 2 miles from the center of Carlisle since the early 1800's. In it's time it served many a tired traveler as Given's Tavern. After the closing of the tavern in 1857 the property change hands a few times and served as a home to several families until the Kings took over in 1946. Ms. Mary Wheeler King gifted the home to the Cumberland County Historical Society upon her death 1992. With all that history inside the walls of this beautiful home there is a strong possibility there is still some present today.

We would like to thank Shawn and Sharon of the Cumberland County Historical Society for having us investigate this amazing piece of Carlisle history.
