As some of you are aware the sierras were formed from volcanic activity millions of years ago then the glaciers carved out the canyons. This is nearly a 9k hike I am performing and an old volcanic site so its a bit rugged. But upon reach the top the views of the Bear Meadows below are quite stellar. The sun is setting and the region is so vast I can see for miles in every direction. In the meadow are cattle grazing it is a free range.
