Hillcrest Cemetery is the original Independent Order Of Odd Fellows burial ground. Eventually when the nearby Valley Grove Cemetery became flooded many of the graves were exhumed and moved on over to here. Louis Sarone and Fred M. Fulstone donated the land to be used as a cemetery and Nellie Albright formed the cemetery board. Today this is really only Smith Valleys only public cemetery with allot of scenery, desertscapes, snow capped peaks and lush ranches that surround it. During the filming of this short clip we were plagued with flocks of birds they were very uptight the entire time. If these birds could tell tales what would they say? Would they say that this place is haunted? That the forgotten pioneers of nearby Ludwig, Wellington, Hudson, Thompson Smelter, Nordyke, and Mason reside quietly underneath its trees? We arrived here at dusk so the footage is a bit dark of our grand tour but no less it would be a great finale to our winter 2015 expeditions up in the Smith Valley region of Nevada. One of the more prominent interments found here is a John. H. Glazier who owned the red light district in Aurora and also made alcohol with honey during the prohibition. Every grave tells a story and everyone comes with some kind of wild western culture.
