What a night!! We caught some great stuff at the Historic Anderson Jail.

The Historic Anderson County Jail was built in 1931 to replace the pre-existing jail that had been built on the same site in 1879. It's Art Deco Style is locally rare, and was typically used as an architectural expression in the facades of public buildings. In 1988, a new county jail was constructed on Lacy Street. The old building was renovated to become a juvenile detention center until it's closing in 1996. In 1998, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places- building #98000692. Except for county storage purposes, the building remained empty until it was purchased by a private party in 2013. Currently the building is being used as an event space and Art Gallery.
