I thought this was Venus when I first saw it in the sky. I observed it for a few minutes before I brought it to the attention of a friend who was with me, but hadn't noticed this extremely large, but extremely far away, planet-looking object. We watched for a few minutes as it moved (slowly to the naked eye but extremely quick, considering how far away it was) and I took a few photos. As my friend was getting out his phone so he could document it as well, the object vanished. So, there are a total of six still photos taken, the first one being blurry, and all time-stamped with the same minute.
Unfortunately, this is the only documentation that I know of.
Fortunately, the moon was a great reference point to observe this objects movement. I never would have noticed it otherwise, and this is something I haven't seen before. I'm hoping someone might have ideas or theories about this.
