Kingston was plotted in 1864 at the mouth of a canyon that leads into the heart of the mighty Toiyabe Mountains after other mining camps nearby were built on difficult terrain. This town boasted multiple large mills boom years were the 1860's, 1883 and 1906 as many of the mines production was down it transitioned to a ranching community. Today not much remains of the town but the stone ruins of the old Sterling Mill, General Store, Chapel, Foundations, Mine Carts, Graveyard and some of the stone walls found at the Miles End Lodge. With views of Bunker Hill, Big Smoky Valley and the Toiyabe Range this quaint little living ghost town takes you through the remnants of the past of what once was! This is a tour of the town off in the distance there is even an airport due to the remoteness of this town that had some of the largest mines in the state of Nevada. We will take you to some of the historic sites around town and along the way make a new furry friend. The town once was much larger today allot of retirees have came here for the peace while some houses reside in the mouth of the canyon others are found below it in the valley. Attached at the end are multiple galleries and stills.
