The Great Divide or often some call it the Foresthill divide is a very deep canyon where the American River flows. The road on the western side of it traverses along this steep canyon along its cliffs where at one time many prospectors traveled to and from during the Gold Rush. The views are priceless and only play a small part of our Last Chance adventure as we continuously climb higher up into the sierras.
