Framed by lush-green hills, Montego Bay vibrates with an energy that’s somehow soothing and exciting at the same time. This is the second-largest city in Jamaica and a key port for cruise ships. That, combined with the sparkling blue waters and pristine beaches, is why Montego Bay is known as the country’s tourism capital.

Upon arrival, most travelers gravitate to the hopping Gloucester Avenue – also known as the Hip Strip. On top of loads of shopping and a vibrant nightlife, this is also one of the best places to sample some incredibly creative Jamaican cuisine.
Rather delve into local folklore instead? Take a tour of Rose Hall, a 1770 ‘Great House’ that is said to be haunted by the White Witch. The building has even attracted TV producers from ‘Ghost Hunters International’ and other shows.

If you’re not into scary tales, stay active beneath the warm Caribbean sun by hopping on a jet ski or snorkeling among schools of bright-colored fish.
