Most Haunted, Old Changi Hospital…. echoes of horror and a brutal past. Old Changi Hospital in Singapore ranks as among the most haunted hospitals in the world. Singapore as a thriving island nation have its own violent history.
Built in 1935 as the Royal Air Force Hospital, also as a British RAF barracks when Singapore was still a part of the English Empire.
During the Japanese occupation of Singapore in 1942 and 1845. The hospital was use by the Japanese secret police, or Kempeitai, as a prison camp and torture chambers for British soldiers and their allies, as well as anyone considered to be “anti-Japanese.”
When brutal torture and physical abuse, beheadings, executions and impalement were the order of the day.
Tens of thousands of prisoners-of-war were held during the dark days of occupation. As the war ended many Japanese soldiers were executed at this hospital.
It was a hospital in the 1950s for Singapore Army hospital and later for civilian use.
In 1997 the old hospital was closed it has been abandoned ever since, having fallen to neglect and disrepair.
