Honestly, Ophir Hill is probably the second best view atop of the Virginia Range or rather above Virginia City. It is less attractive because at the summit are allot of antennas unfortunately but you can still see the city of Reno from afar. You can see Mount Davidson just across the saddle which would be our next destination after filming this clip at this location. It was a brisk morning still in the 30's believe it or not fairly cold for an April morning but one can see just from standing on top of this hill what miners had to endure on a regular basis as miners flooded Ophir Canyon and Spanish Ravine just below. You can see Ophir Hill from downtown Virginia City there is also an old mining road that goes to the top its steep and I was on it in the first video of this series. Allot of people may find it easier to traverse or get to Ophir Hill but do not let it stop you from moving on to Mount Davidson which on a clear day has 200 mile views.
