Native American history, religion, and the afterlife inspire a real life ghost hunter at a remote 1400 year old Caddo Indian burial mound in East Texas.

CADDO INDIAN MOUNDS

Hey everybody. This is Alejandro, the Dead Explorer. I am on vacation this weekend, but as a paranormal investigator there is a location I really wanted to check out. I’m at the Caddo Indian Mounds in East Texas and this is a place of very big spiritual significance to the Caddo tribe. As somebody that is always looks to communicate with spirits and the afterlife, I wanted to come out here and connect with a place where spiritualism and being in touch with the afterlife was of huge significance. This is an area that was inhabited in 600-700 A.D. and these mounds were so important to the Caddo Indians that they would build these pails of straw and carry one pail of dirt at a time to build these three mounds that range from forty to ninety feet wide. They would have ceremonies for the dead at the burial mound where they would buried people. They would bring gifts for them in the afterlife. In addition, they built structures on top of the other mounds where they would have religious ceremonies. This was a community that was dedicated to spirits and spiritualism. When they built the villages the spiritual leaders of the community lived closest to the mounds and then the people who did the hunting and the fishing and grew the crops lived further out. I came to the mounds with hopes that I could connect with some of the positive energy, positive spirits, and anything that could give me an insight into a different way to communicate with spirits. I’m going to be real busy soon with six to seven investigations planned for the next thirty days, but I wanted to slow down on my vacation and check out this really tranquil place that gives you an insight to a world from the past. A world where some things were more important than they are now.
