In 1991, photographer Kirk Weddle, photographed a four month old naked baby boy named Spencer Elden, Here in the pool at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center for an album cover for a virtually unknown band at the time called Nirvana.

The baby's father, shared an art studio space with Weddle and agreed to let him use baby Spencer as a model. According to the dad, “Babies have a gag reflex, If you blow in their face, they hold their breath. I blew in Spencer’s face and put him in the water. Kirk was shooting 18 frames a second, so Spencer was in the water for about two seconds.” Spencer’s modeling fee was $200.

The record label’s art department added the fish hook and dollar bill later.
