The deseret paper mill was built in 1883 by Henry Grow. On April 1, 1893, a fire broke out inside the mill. Many who heard the fire alarm actually thought that this fire was a fake drill or prank for April fools.

The structure was partially rebuild in 1927 for use as an open-air dance hall known as the "Old Mill Club".. During the 1970s and 1980s it was a haunted house and craft boutique.

The mill was condemned in 2005 so **DO NOT TRESPASS**
