Slide mountain is a beast and at this very moment upon sunup our team was standing thousands of feet below it in Washoe Valley. The mountain overshadows Carson and Washoe City as well as Reno Nevada. From its SE side it is quite apparent that over thousands of years a good portion of the mountain has completely collapsed away and it was our destiny to make it to the top. In 1983 a large portion of the mountain gave away killing a religious figure, washing out the road with debris and destroying 12 structures below it. This mountain has a history of tragedy and we were about to take it on. What mysteries will await at its summit overshadows Lake Tahoe a place with tales of lake monsters, water babies, giants, massive man eating birds and possibly even UFO's await!
