After investigating the Telfair Peet Theatre at AUburn Univeristy, the Alabama Paranormal Research Team has found evidence that may lend some truth to the claims of the universities most famous spirit. Sydney Grimlett was a British born Confederate soldier who allegedly passed away at University Chapel when it was a field hospital during the Civil War. The rumor of his death spun from a bout of infection from his amputated leg. When theater students used the chapel as a stage for performances after the war, they had numerous experiences with the legendary ghost of the plains. After many generations of stories and experiences with the spirit students began to leave chocolate in the rafters to keep him at bay during opening night. It was rumored that if Sydney's chocolates weren't left, all hell would break lose during performances. After the Telfair Peet Theater was built in 1972, the students offered for their spiritual colleague to come along, and apparently he did. Today the legend of Sydney is still alive and well at the theater and still the students leave out his goodies for fear he will bring down the curtain on a packed house. Peanut M&M's are his new favorite and they are left for him before every performance. The Alabama Paranormal Research Team spend several hours at the theater in the Spring of 2012 trying to make contact with Sydney, and this video shows that the one legged soldier is showing his school spirit. When asked what color M&M's he preferred, Sydney responded by signally through our K2 meters (K2-a device calibrated to to detect low electronic frequencies, said to be given off by spirit's) Sydney no doubt has the AUburn school spirit!
