Amon is said to be a Marquis of hell who governs forty infernal legions. Some say he is one of Astaroths assistants. He is often confused with the Egyptian god Amun, of which his name is believed to have originated from. Both have been depicted as having the body of a human and the head of a bird of prey as well. Some demonologists have associated their names as being one in the same entity. Some believe the name could also come from Baal-Hamon of Carthage. Others say that the word is derived from the word demon itself. Aemon. Some claim he is strongest in April, specifically the 20th-24th. He is a sun deity, and supposedly governs over the western part of hell.
According to the "Dictionnaire Infernal" by Collin de Plancy, he commands forty legions of demons and carries the title of prince. He tells of all things past and future. He is also an entity many looked to reconcile friends and foes, and procure love for those seeking it.
Johann Wier had this to say about Amon in his "Pseudomonarchia daemonum"
"Amon, or Aamon, is a great and mighty marques, and commeth abroad in the likeness of a Wolf, having a serpents tail, [vomiting] flames of fire; when he putteth on the shape of a man, he sheweth out dogs teeth, and a great head like to a mighty [night hawk]; he is the strongest prince of all other, and understandeth of all things past and to come, he procureth favor, and reconcileth both friends and foes, and ruleth forthy legions of devils."

In the Lesser Key of Solomon he is the 7th spirit of 72.
S.L. Mathers and Aleister crowley wrote this in the Goetia wrote this of Amon:
"The Seventh Spirit is Amon. He is a Marquis great in power, and most stern. He appeareth like a Wolf with a Serpent's tail, vomiting out of his mouth flames of fire; but at the command of the Magician he putteth on the shape of a Man with Dog's teeth beset in a head like a Raven; or else like a Man with a Raven's head (simply). He telleth all things Past and to Come. He procureth feuds and reconcileth controversies between friends. He governeth 40 Legions of Spirits. His Seal is this which is to be worn as aforesaid, etc."

One who claims to have summoned Amon said that she was able to see his true form. The conjurer described a tall, strong, beautiful man with light skin and hair who radiated with postive energy. As I've said before, many demons are believed to have their angelic and human forms they are able to manifest as. Some describe Amon as radiating energy akin to the sun.

care must be taken when dealing with this demon. It is noteworthy that this demon has an indifferent predisposition towards mankind – neither hate nor love. This is coupled with an independent will which demands respect on the part of the conjuror.

107: Limitatons on exclusive rights: Fair Use
