Daywalkers Paranormal Investigations visited Mount Union/Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Chillicothe, Ohio to investigate the legend surrounding Elizabeth's grave.
Legend says that if you move Elizabeth’s stone to the front of the cemetery, it will return to the tree where she hung herself- A ghostly woman has been seen hanging from a tree and/or walking among the stones followed by two dark, cloaked figures.
One legend tells that Elizabeth was a beautiful bride who loved her husband so much, when he died she could do no more than weep for days, weeks and then months at his grave. Then one day, she could stand it no longer and hung herself from a tree nearby. . .

Another Legend tells of Elizabeth whose husband passed away. The land where the church and cemetery stood was owned by the family and she decided, after his death, to sell it to make money. Some people of the community disagreed and were so angry, they hung her from the tree at the back of the cemetery. . . .

Tragic, the stories are. If ghosts haunt places where misfortune occurs, Elizabeth has every excuse in the world to show up in a pale dress and chase away gawkers who drive up the lonely lane inside the Pleasant Valley Wilderness Area. She is followed by one or two dark shadow figures that add to the chase and may force your car to break down. Complaints of cold spots near the back of the cemetery have sent shivers down one or two spines trying to find her grave. People have been touched – fingers tickling along their neck or back. They see shadows running from the thick wall of trees straight toward the graves.
Daywalkers found the cemetery a very sad place. There is a feeling you get in the middle of the cemetery. But you also get an overwhelming sense of sadness as you approach the left corner of the woods where the broken tombstones are piled up and hidden there.
