This perhaps is the most relevant site found in Volcano.the first site being the site of the old Observatory where George Madeira discovered the great comet of 1861. The second being "Old Abe" which is a bronze cannon smuggled in by the Volcano Blues who supported the Union in the civil war. It was shot down Main Street to shatter many of the businesses windows who were Confederate sympathizers since Volcano's gold was used in supporting the Union during that time. Today "Old Abe" sits locked away but its one of the only cannons to reside on its original wooden carriage from the Nineteenth century!
