In this explore, we go to an abandoned mine just outside of Buxton! Some people I asked said this was actually an abandoned gold mine, and on the internet it does claim that there was gold found in a mine in the area, but I am not sure this was the mine.
I did find an old map online which had the abbreviation "AUM" above this location, but I'm unsure what this means. Either way it stopped its use as a mine in the 1980s and went on to become an Electric Works and an Industrial site for a building company. I am unsure when it closed, but a magazine on the floor was dated from 2002, so I'm guessing it was around that time.
