Between 1916 and 1917, Lúcia dos Santos and her two cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto, encountered something supernatural near Fátima, Portugal. Described in terms of bright lights and mysterious visitors from the heavens, the strange series of events culminated in the Miracle of the Sun, when up to 70,000 people witnessed a wheel of fire in the sky that was - by modern standards - reminiscent of an alien UFO.
