We are standing at one of the lowest points of interest within Death Valley almost 200 feet below sea level. Surrounding us is the old Harmony Borax Works which at one time was a major operation. Death Valley despite its lack of water and harsh life did do ranching, farming and mining. The water in bad water basin smells like sulfur and just over a few hundred feet from where this was filmed is an entire lake created by the monsoon rains that occurred Xmas week in 2010.
