Marie Laveau created and performed voodoo rituals from animistic religion in West Africa that slaves introduced to Haiti. This piece was carved by a worshipper and was used by Marie in one of her ceremonies.

The mask carving will protect you and is able to call up priests and priestesses when you are in need. Originally this piece would have been held in your hand during a ceremony, but over the years it has been adorned with a small jewelry eyelet that allows for the piece to be worn on a necklace or used as a keychain.

Having this mask carving will immerse you in healing and purification remedies. Marie Laveau held annual voodoo activities where worshippers gathered along the shore of Lake Pontchartrian to light bonfires and have healing and purification ceremonies. The carving originated from a worshipper and still holds the spirit of the ceremonies within. All that the ceremonies were held for are inside which includes all the magic.
