The oldest construction phase dates from about 1300. In about 1480 the choir was added to the building. This rear part deviates to the north, creating a visible kink in the building.
The North Wall of the church is locally more than a half meter more out of plumb than the tower of Pisa (Italy) The legend
goes that the 'sloppy' construction' was intended to express the suffering of Christ. Hanging from the cross on Golgotha, he finally could not keep his head straight, but let it hang at an angle.
