The history on this location is extremely vague but definitely used to be owned by an incredibly rich family who sold the nearby Talacre Hall to an order of nuns who then changed the hall to Talacre Abbey. The "headless monk" could actually be a hermit who was paid to live in the cave as entertainment for the family as it would have been created way before any religious activity would have taken place in the cave.

When the family sold Talacre Hall a local witch supposedly cursed them all with the curse only being removed if they bought back the hall. The family has since had more than their fair share of bad luck with many of them dying at a young age.
