Jonathan Grant Thompson (November 21, 1980 - July 29, 2019) better known online as The King of Random, was a Canadian-born American YouTuber known widely across the Internet.

He has uploaded videos of funny and interesting experiments, life hacks and random weekend projects. His YouTube channel and has well over 11.3 million subscribers and 2.3 billion video views, making it the 321st most subscribed channel on YouTube at the time of his death. He also collaborated with Jerry Rig Everything (Zack Nelson)

Grant was also an airline pilot and paragliding enthusiast. He worked in the transportation industry and had even got a job in Hawaii flying cargo.

On July 29, 2019, Grant passed away due to a paragliding accident in St. George Utah (Washington County)

Grant's brother Mark Thompson confirmed to TMZ that Grant lost his life as a result of a paragliding accident. He was 38 years old…

He is survived by his wife and four sons. He was loved and will be missed…..
