Kat Hobson, host of Paranormal Experienced and Lead Investigator with Spirit Communication And Research of Alabama (SCARE of Alabama) since 2013, is a veteran paranormal investigator who researches several areas of study within the paranormal. Her interest stemmed from various life experiences that left her with more questions than answers. Kat has many gifts including the ability to sense the presence of spirits and their intent, hear them and often read people's thoughts. She has worked extensively with her team and their clients to resolve many cases to date. In addition to helping residential clients, she has also investigated locations including the Pensacola Lighthouse, Sloss Furnace, and the Old South Pittsburgh Hospital. She was on the only team to investigate abandoned hospitals in the Birmingham area. She works with her team to bring experiences & education to those interested in paranormal investigation through public opportunities in primarily historic locations.
Kat began active paranormal research when she had a spirit communicate with her through electronics rather than simply making itself known to her. She had always had random paranormal experiences of communication with spirits and precognizance but this was different. She was surprised & determined to find out how that occurred. Thus began serious research leading to paranormal investigations.
Kat enjoys sharing information and learning about the paranormal. Her guests on Paranormal Experienced vary greatly from authors to ufologists , developers of technologies and demonologists to television personalities. She loves interviewing paranormal investigation team founders as they share the reasons they became interested in the paranormal and what keeps them investigating as well as methodologies used. The interviews are laid-back, interesting and personal. She seeks out those with more experience and/or different research and investigative techniques to further her education in the field. So far she is always amazed by what she didn’t know she didn’t know.
Kat thinks paranormal unity is a great goal without a clear path toward achievement. She feels that knowledge gained from paranormal research should be utilized to help others as opposed to being guarded like state secrets. When she reached out to one of her mentors in the field they determined the logistics of creating uniformity in investigations is almost impossible without standardized equipment and methods of measurement. The field is a long way from that point but she feels it is worth working toward & tries to help that evolution of research as she can.
