Grey Fox Grille & Public House, Dover, Delaware
Investigation date: June 26, 2015
Investigators in attendance: Mike Wolfer, Natalie Jane, Vinny Gomez

Long-rumored to be haunted, the three story structure was once the home of William T. Smithers, famous local attorney, distinguished military figure, and Dover Representative to the Delaware Constitutional Convention in 1897. The building later housed the Ferguson & Hayes Funeral Home, before becoming a popular bar and restaurant called "W.T. Smithers" in the 1980s.

While our investigation did not uncover any highly-unusual activity, we did have several noteworthy experiences recorded on audio which we've composited with video from the same room in which the sounds were recorded. In most cases, the video you see does not correspond with the audio clip; it's just something to look at, to give you an idea of what the room looks like.

Clip #1: Mike was on the main floor, watching the monitors. Vinny was on the second floor, Natalie in the basement. Mike hears singing, and Natalie admits that she was speaking in the basement, but not loud enough for Mike to hear. And she was not singing, only speaking. Audio enhancement reveals the singing. This audio clip is time-synched to the video you see.

Clip #2: In the basement, a loud click is heard very near to the audio recorder, which was on a wooden table. There was nothing else on the table, which is visible on the right in the video.

Clip #3: None of us heard it live, but audio analysis reveals a sound which could be a dog barking. The area where the building is located is not residential, and Diana Welch (co-owner of the Grey Fox Grille) told us that she is not aware of any dogs in any of the area businesses. We include this clip as an example of a sound we caught three times during the night, but do not think it is paranormal.

Clip #4: This one's self-explanatory.

The Haunt Squad determination is that, while we can't conclusively say that paranormal activity is occurring in the Grey Fox Grille, we did experience several unexplained events on all floors of the establishment, but some of those could have natural explanations. A follow-up investigation is certainly in order!
