Today we enter this haunted abandoned prisoner of war camp AKA Marchington Barracks, That has got a ghosty history. It was originally in 1941 a USA army camp built in Marchington. The vicarage became the headquarters and an officers'mess was built. it became a prisoner of war camp in 1944 when the soldiers left for D-Day invasion of europe.

Ghost sightings at Marchington barracks/Prisoner of war camp date back as early as 1960s with multiple reports of shadow figures that some claim to be ghosts of fallen soldiers that still roam the now abandoned hall ways. Crys are also heard within the grounds that some claim sound like someone in pain, could this be residual hauntings of what happened here!! Other reports are the sound of marching up and down the corridors & even the sound of gun fire has been reported.
