A hill of rock in Rehoboth, just off the road on Route 44, was the stage for one of the final acts of King Phillip’s War.
The war between Native American inhabitants of the region and English colonists started in 1675 and lasted for the next few years, wreaking havoc and bloodshed in New England. King Philip was the English name adopted by Native American leader known as Metacomet, who was shot dead earlier in the month of August 1676, before his fellow Native American King Anawan was captured at the landmark rock in Rehoboth. Here we experienced ghostly lights...disembodied voices...cold spots and physical shoves and touches..
