Why do we use IR capable cameras? The question has been asked a lot over the years but seldom ever gets answered. Below are some reasons why we use them.

IR cameras have many advantages when conducting a case study. Sometimes we're not afforded the option to investigate a location with the lights on, so cameras that see in the dark are a must.

IR cameras also reveal things we can't normally see with the naked eye. Things such as air particulates which become illuminated when the light from the IR reflect off of them on back into the camera lens.
Thanks to the air particulates, IR lighting also reveals the directional air flow within a building. What a lot of people don't realize is that the air within a building is constantly in flux regardless of windows and doors being sealed.

Another obvious one is that it allows us to observe the location for anything we may be unaware of at the time. Animals, possible apparitions, and PK events just to name a few.
