ClubZero investigate Antwerp Mansion in Rusholme Greater Manchester.

Antwerp Mansion started life as Antwerp house in 1840 and became home to the Fowden family in 1845. When the family moved down south, the Eggar family moved in in 1853. In 1871 it became home to the Seligmann family. When Hermann Seligmann died in 1882, Ownership of the house moved to the Pinto Leite family and their live in servants in 1884.

1922 brought big changes to the house when Joaquim Pinto Leite and his wife passed away. The house became a Conservative club. It is said that Winston Churchill once visited the club.

It is also said that this house was once home to Belgian diplomats hence the name Antwerp.

As the influence of the conservatives started to decline in the 1970s, so did the club and with it the house itself. They fought for survival by selling off land and assets with the surrounding land becoming Kent Court flats.

Having stood empty for years, in 2009 it became known as Antwerp Mansion and one of Manchester's most notorious rave venues. When this era ended in 2018 the house fell silent. Or has it....

As a lot of past family members have passed away here along with a child who fell through the skylight in the reception area in the 1960s does the house still harbour any spirits of the past?
