The Starr Clark Tin Shop was the property of Starr Clark and his wife, Harriet Loomis Clark, who were both abolitionists and Underground Railroad activists in the Village of Mexico, New York.
They welcomed freedom seekers, and provided housing for them either in the Starr Tin Shop, their own home, or in the homes of other antislavery families.
Paranormal activity, and some lingering spirits are said to still roam this property, as well as the building next door.
