Quality VS Quantity - July 26th 2022

Over my years of coaching basketball if its one thing I learned its that its better to surround yourself with quality players over the many. Id rather sometimes play one on one then full court with a bunch of people who lack respect for the sport and others they compete with or against.

Its been a rough go perhaps because were at the height of summer so less people are coming out. But I am still trying to keep team practices going on Tuesdays and we may sign up for the upcoming tournament. So once again some fancy shooting for about a half hour followed by seven one on one games between Zach and I.

Zach came back off of injury he did really well against me considering how hot I been lately he got me in six of the seven games. But nothing but respect for how well he played and matched up against me. Games were close but just as when it comes to people with quality over quantity I upped my shooting and I just could not get that final two or three pointer to finish the match.

Its really hard to come back when someone gets a lead especially since these are short games up to eleven only playing twos and threes. As I say better luck next time you live and you learn that is how basketball is. I know that years ago I made more mistakes then I do now. Now I make sure all my shots hit the rim if possible and that I know when to cut to the net or when to take the three.

I will be working on scouting for more players in the near future so we can once again bring the fans fun games to watch here on youtube. But right now with it being summer not allot of people are hooping and some of our guys have had some schedule changes at work. So it is what it is but no less seven scrimmages and quite a few great shots as always on both sides of the circle!
