A ball like object, caught by Mars Curiosity rover, bears a striking resemblance to a sea sponge! A Sea Sponge is not a coral nor a plant, rather it is classified as an animal.

Sea Sponges reside on the ocean floor, they attach themselves permanently to a solid location under the water, and they do not move around.

Sponges feed by filtering plankton and organic particles from the ocean currents, through thousands of tiny pores on the surface of their bodies. Sponges also obtain oxygen and nourishment from the flowing water.

Could this object be an ancient sea sponge? if it is, then its solid evidence that the red planet did indeed have oceans filled with life.
