A shuttered former prison in North Carolina seemed like a good home for Southern Grace Distilleries. Just outside the small town of Mt Pleasant, the long, empty, cool hallways of the former Cabarrus Correctional Center made the perfect location to house dozens of barrels holding aging whiskey. But the prison isn't as empty as it first appeared. A flurry of unexplained activity, including an employee's dog being fearful of an area in the Barrel House, shadow figures, and a staff member being scratched by an unseen force, greeted the new tenants and left those who work there shaken. In search of answers, they reached out to TAPS. This investigation takes the team inside the cells that once held hardened criminals, and where some met their untimely and tragic demise.
