Jack Parsons was a rocket engineer, chemist and co-founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). He was also a practicing occultist, former close friend of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, and a practitioner of sex magic rituals.

In 1939, Parsons and his wife converted to Aleister Crowley’s religious sect called Thelema and joined the Californian branch of the Thelemite Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), an organization devoted an occult philosophy/religion that embraces libertinism and teaches that people should have the freedom to do whatever they want.

This is the bizarre story of Jack Parsons.
