The reportedly "HAUNTED" Winchendon Town Hall was built in 1850. It was constructed in a modified Italianate Style and is a stately and some say haunted symbol of democracy in its purest form. At the turn of the 20th century, Winchendon became known as "Toy Town" due to its massive production of wooden toys!
Winchendon is governed by the open town meeting form of government, which is led by an elected board of selectmen and a town manager.
The town's services are centralized downtown, with the town library and police headquarters being located nearby.
The building is connected to the old Winchendon jail and the auditorium is on the second level and the architectural wonders of this room
can be seen during normal business hours whenever town hall is open for business.
The big question surrounding Winchendon's Town Hall: Is it haunted?
A variety of paranormal investigators seem to think so.
