Recent headline stories have featured the brutal persecution of 'child witches' in Europe. This film offers a devastating insight into the African roots of the persecution of children deemed to harbour witch spirits.

In Ghana, a woman's future can be determined by the way a chicken dies. Only a dubious ceremony is needed to establish she is a witch. A woman reveals the scars of her beating to us. "How many attacked you?" She replies "six men". Accused women are violently ostracised from their communities. In this film, their stories bring home the reality of modern day superstition.
