We take are taking a close look at the top 5 haunted locations this world has to offer!
Some of these places are very active as well as dangerous.
These are just a few places we would like to go and hope to one day travel to!

Povegelia Island, Italy
Poveglia is a small island located between Venice and Lido in the Venetian Lagoon.
When the Bubonic Plague struck Italy in 1348, this island became the permanent home to many sick people before and after their untimely deaths. This plague was responsible for killing a third of the world’s population. In order to dispose of diseased victims properly they were cremated by the masses on the island. Some sick were burned alive in order to help stop even more spread of the Black Death.
In the 1800s the island became home to an insane asylum and hospital. The hospital acted more as a place of exile then rehabilitation. Story goes in the 1930s a deranged Doctor conducted sick and twisted experiments on his patients, resulting in him going mad and committing suicide by jumping off the bell tower.

The Paris Catacombs.
Located under the streets of Paris France sits a 200 mile maze of human bones and remains known as the catacombs. The catacombs house more than 6 million deceased whose skulls line the walls of the giant tomb.
Most access to the catacombs is restricted and if you dare to venture into the death maze you could easily become lost and claimed by the dark abyss. Most of the catacombs are unexplored and unmapped. Many people believe the catacombs are home to satanic worshipers and many murders. Would you explore the catacombs if given the chance?

Pennhurst State School and Hospital
Pennhurst opened its doors in 1908. It was built to house only the mentally and physically handicapped, but was also pressured to house immigrants, orphan, and criminals. Due to this it became overcrowded by 1913. By the mid -1960s it housed over 2700 patients which was 900 over what should’ve been housed and only 9 medical doctors on staff and only 11 teachers the conditions of the hospital was inhumane.
Most of the patients were cared for awfully with some being housed and chained to metal cribs, drugged to the point of submission, and horribly disciplined by beatings and if the patient had 2 offenses of biting they would have all their teeth removed. Thousands died behind the hospital’s closed doors, resulting in one of the most haunted location in America. Many teams have investigated Pennhurst and caught some of the most intriguing evidence of the paranormal.

Aokighara Forest Mount Fuji Japan, aka “Suicide Forest”
Simply strolling through this lush forest you may stumble upon a dead body. This forest got it’s nickname from the fact that a overwhelming amount of people take their lives in this forest every year. It is known that that at least 100 people a year breath their last breath in the forest, but that’s just who they find. Many of the bodies can go undiscovered and swallowed by the Earth.
When someone takes their own life there is a lot of negative energy that comes with that. All the pain, depression, and suffering create a melting pot for ghostly activity.

Island of the Dolls, Xochimilco Mexico
Sitting off the Xochimilco canal system is a tiny island inhabited by dolls. Hanging from the trees and sitting along the shore the dolls stare ominously at passerby’s. Why the dolls you ask? Well the story goes a hermit named Don Julian Santana Barrera lived in the canals and one day came upon the body of a young drowned girl who washed up ashore one of the small islands. Soon after he spotted a doll in the water and in honor of the girl he had found, he hung the doll on a tree. Soon after another doll floated by and another and another. He fished every doll out and hung them up as well, to keep further tragedy from striking his home. Soon the island was covered with weathered plastic dolls. But in 2001 tragedy finally caught up to Don Julian and he was found drowned in the same spot he found the young girl. Some say the spirit of the girl lives through all the dolls and haunts the island.
